Beautiful Destinations to see whilst Cruising the Mediterranean

No European vacation is complete without visiting the Mediterranean! Cruising is the perfect way to explore this area – allowing you access to more countries in a short space of time.  Tick off Spain, France and Italy all in one week! Here are some of our favourite port cities:

• Barcelona, Spain

  

  • Barcelona has been popular with travelers for years and it’s not hard to see why. The city is a vibrant combination of roman history, medieval architecture and artistic expression – with Gaudi’s Modernist Sculptures being its centerpiece.  It’s the perfect place for aimless wandering, where you’ll find yourself dipping in and out of tapas bars as you discover this seaside city’s charm.

• Marseille, France

  

  • Marseille is the second largest city in France as well as the oldest with its Greek origins. With a range of gardens, monuments, and museums in the city, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning your daily activities.  Highlights include Notre-Dame de la Garde (the city’s iconic silhouette), Chateau d’If (a fortress that sits on the smallest island in the Frioul archipelago), and the beautiful historic high street – La Canebiere.  Like any European city, Marseille is best experienced by walking or cycling.

• Genoa, Italy

  

  • One of Italy’s less visited cities, Genoa is as underrated as they come. In Genoa, you’ll get to explore medieval and roman plazas, alleyways, museums, churches and cathedrals! The city’s old town is a beautiful maze of streets and alleys filled with quaint cafes and shops – don’t be afraid to lose yourself here, it’s all part of the fun! Don’t miss the Strada Nuova Museums: Palazzo Rosso, Palazzo Bianco and Palazzo Tursi.  Here you’ll have a chance to see ancient artwork in all its varying forms…as well as one of Paganini’s famous violins!
