Hidden Gems: African Vacation
Wondering after a vacation to Africa? This continent has been growing as a popular travel destination. Survey the wondrous South African outback and view a stunning blend of ancient and modern architecture.
From the tawny dunes of Sossusvlei to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa has much to offer the modern traveller. Thinking about traveling to Africa? Be sure to check out these hidden gems on your trip.
Namibia
Stretching golden deserts, shapely red sand dunes, and awe-inspiring rock formations. Namibia has a small population density for its size so you can expect to have your time occupied by vast, gorgeous landscapes like the Sossusvlei (sometimes written Sossus Vlei) dunes or touring the Fish River Canyon.
You can take a safari through Etosha National Park to see elephants, lions, giraffes, and other wildlife. Stay in the Eastern coastal city, Swakopmund, where you can visit the Swakopmund Museum, the National Marine Aquarium, and a crystal gallery.

Tanzania
Tanzania is located in East Africa and borders Uganda and Kenya; it is also the home to Africa’s highest point, Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as Africa’s lowest point, the floor of Lake Tanganyika. Traveling around the country will expose you to different climates, from beaches to plains to mountains.
Visit Tanzania’s largest national park, Ruaha National Park, or the Selous Game Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you can stay at a safari lodge and tour the grounds to see elephant and buffalo herds, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, and hyenas.

Madagascar
The Republic of Madagascar is an island country situated in the Indian Ocean and is known as a “biodiversity hotspot”, as much of its wildlife variety can’t be found anywhere else in the world: the Giraffe Weevil, the Panther Chameleon, the Tomato Frog, the Sifaka lemur, the Indri lemur, and the nocturnal Aye-aye.
The island has a huge array of flora and fauna, including 85% of the over 900 orchid species in existence and around 200 species of palms. Cruise the Mozambique Channel, located between the Southeast African countries of Madagascar and Mozambique.

Zambia
Zambia is ripe with must-see travel experiences: Victoria Falls, Livingstone Island, Zambezi River, and Hwange National Park. See the Capitol Theater and Hindu Hall in Livingstone, the former capital of Zambia (now it’s Lusaka).
Indulge in a walking safari or go on a game-viewing adventure; explore the blue-green wetlands of the Okavango Delta; see the Linyanti and Chobe River systems and the predators they contain. Hopefully, you’ll spot some elephants, roan and sable antelope, lions and leopards.
