Day 1Bilbao to Pamplona

11:00 pick up at the Hotel Gran Bilbao

● Check into the hotel Pamplona.

● Prepare your Pilgrim Credentials and get your very first stamp

● 17:30 Visit of the historic quarter of Pamplona

● 18:30 Pintxos and wine dinner with group (3 or 4 pintxos and wines/px)

Pamplona is one of the top cities in Spain for gourmet eating. We arrive, prepare the bikes and credentials, go for a running of the bulls run course walking tour, dinner will be pintxos and wines in the historic quarter of Pamplona.

Day 2Roncesvalles to Pamplona

● 09:00 Transfer to Roncesvalles.

● 10:30 We cycle from Roncesvalles to Pamplona (50 kms).

● 18:30 Walk to your dinner spot at the Nuevo Casino Principal with NST in our private social club

We transfer to Roncesvalles and cycle to Pamplona. Optional tasting menu lunch just before we arrive in Pamplona at the restaurant Mixtura. Dinner will be a locals’ experience at our private social club, where you join us food-lovers as we cook up a storm. This will give us an opportunity to dine together and discuss your Way. There is nothing better than hearing us locals conversing about this fabulous region over a delicious meal and wine in abundance. A tribute to Navarra wines. Among these, Iban’s Michelin star menu wine, the Otazu wine, Joana’s Maximo Abete wine and a few others, The dishes have been carefully selected, always traditional dishes of Navarre, in tune with the local seasonal produce and using only the best ingredients. Enjoy the club with a fine wine in hand. In a nutshell, you will fall in love with Pamplona, northern Spain and your NST team.

Day 3Pamplona - Logroño

● Cycle the Camino de Santiago with 9 kms off the beaten path to Propiedad Arinzano (50 kms)

● Winery visit, to Bodegas Arinzano: We visit the vineyards by 4×4 + wine tasting both among the vineyards and in the winery itself + Iberic ham and sausages with Arinzano wine pairing on the premises.

● Transfer to Logroño.

● Check into the hotel.

● 19:00 dinner 3 or 4 pintxos and wines/px in Logroño.

We cycle to the pearl among vineyards of Northern Spain, the Arínzano Estate, which is the oldest wine estate in Spain, going back to the year 1055. when the wine was cultivated by the monks of the neighboring Aberin monastery, who soon marveled at the extreme quality of the wines they grew. You visit the premises, designed by the well-known architect Raphael Moneo, and enjoy a wine tasting. After an early dinner we will transfer to your hotel in Logroño. Dinner will be pintxos and wines in the bustling streets of la Calle Laurel.

Day 4Day in the Rioja Alta

● Non cycling day.

● Visit the Rioja wine region.

● 10:00 1 Winery visit.

● 12.00 Wine tastings in wine bars of 1 or 2 other top wineries in La Estacion de tren, Haro.

● 13:30 Show Cooking lunch picnic style in the vineyards

● 16:00 Visit to Ezcaray and gorgeous artisan wool-based products store (if possible due to timing).

● Dinner will be in Logroño, TBD

A day out with NST to explore the region known for its truly world-class wineries. We will visit the heart of the wine region and central to top wineries. We will make a private visit to a centuries-old winery with winding tunnels deep underground and thousands upon thousands of bottles, sometimes referred to as the Sistine Chapel of wine. Hemingway himself loved to
visit this winery and we can enjoy a tasting afterwards with high quality jamon de bellota. (Or another from a shortlist of recommendations). We will also enjoy wine tasting in a handful of top winery wine bars, like Muga, la Rioja Alta, Gomez Cruzado. Lunch will be either in the vineyards as a show cooking type catered meal or as a tasting menu in La Vieja Bodega (a Michelin recommended restaurant), which was once a 17th Century winery of the Marqués de Vargas, whose manor is also in that town.

Day 5Logroño to Santo Domingo de la Calzada

● Cycle with guide the Camino to Santo Domingo de la Calzada (50 kms)

● Check into hotel

● 16.30 Afternoon pleasures include a visit to the Monasteries of Yuso and Suso: World Heritage – In the Monasteries of San Millán de la Cogolla, in a wonderful natural environment, the first known words were written in Spanish (and also in Basque). The Monasteries of Suso and Yuso de San Millán de la Cogolla were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for historical, artistic, religious, linguistic and literary reasons.

● 20:30 In-house dinner at the hotel.

Day 6Santo Domingo de la Calzada to Burgos

● Cycle with guide the Camino to Burgos (approx. 70 kms)

● Check into hotel

● We visit the Burgos Cathedral and enjoy the charming historic quarter.

● Dinner on your own – We give you a restaurant list to make your selection. This meal is not included in the package.

Day 7Burgos - Carrión de los Condes

● Cycle with guide. This portion is very easy fast riding (approx 66 kms)

● We stop for a Pilgrims lunch menu along the way

● 20:00 In-house dinner at the hotel

Day 8Carrión de los Condes - León

● Cycle with guide. This portion is very easy fast riding (approx 66 kms)

● TO BE CONFIRMED In house lunch

● A visit of Leon with NST

● Regroup for dinner in Leon (3 or 4 tapas and wines/px)

Day 9Carrión de los Condes - León

● Enjoy the city on your own

● In house lunch

● Dinner on your own. This meal is not included in your journey

Your visit to Leon will be a mixture of visiting historic sites along with a ‘Leonesa’ wine and tapas with our NST team member and lover of history. Leon is known in all of Spain as one of the best cities to go out for tapas.

Day 10Leon - Villafranca

● We cycle sections of the Camino to Villafranca del Bierzo (50 kms)

● Visit the Templar Castle.

● Check into the hotel.

● Walk to winery Bodegas Perez Carames.

● 20:30 In-house dinner at the hotel.

We cycle sections of the Camino to Cacabelos. Visit Gaudi’s Palace. Gaudi’s construction was never actually put to use but makes for a delightful walk through. The cathedral was declared a National Monument in 1931, dating back to the early 11th century. If there is time, we will visit the Museum of chocolate. We cycle to El Cruz de Ferro. We make a stop to visit Ponferrada, the famous town of the Templars. Visit the Castle famous for Paulo Coelho’s book. Continue your Camino to Cacabelos. One of the famous towns in el Bierzo. We have lunch at the Moncloa de San Lazaro Cacabelos, then transfer to your hotel. We will enjoy an in-house dinner.

Day 11Villafranca del Bierzo - Sarri

● We cycle sections to Sarria (70 kms)

● Menu lunch in a Posada in O’Cebreiro.

● Transfer to your hotel.

● 20:00 dinner menu in the Restaurante Roma (1 bottle wine/2 guests)

We will cycle sections to Portomarin. We will visit O’Cebreiro, considered for many the place where the actual Camino was born. Elias Valiño, was the priest who in the 60’s took a brush and some yellow paint and started painting arrows all over the Camino. There is a famous story that says that when Elias was stopped by the police and was asked who he was he responded: “I am just a priest”. Then, he was asked what he was doing and he replied: “I am preparing an invasion” and later explained that the ‘invasion’ was of pilgrims. Elias is probably one of the few priests buried inside a church. It is usually only a reward for bishops and popes. We spend the night in Sarria and have dinner in the best steak house in the region, Restaurante Roma.

Day 12Sarria - Arzua

● Cycle with guide (53 kms)

● Lunch in Melide This meal is not included.

● 19:00 In-house dinner at the hotel

We stop for lunch in the town famous worldwide for serving octopus. Melide is the crossroad for pilgrims coming from the Camino Primitivo who join the Camino. There are two main pulperias (octopus restaurants) in Melide, Ezequiel and A Garnacha. Both are really famous and depending on who you ask, they will encourage you to go to one or the other. We recommend visiting Ezequiel. (This meal is not included in the journey)

Day 13Arzua - Santiago

● Cycle with guide (40km)

● Afternoon Pleasures:

○ Visit of Santiago cathedral

○ Pilgrim mass

■ Spanish mass at 07:30/09:30/12:00/19:30

■ English mass at side chapel 10:30 am
– Remember to get the Compostela on this day.

Hooray, you made it! Time to celebrate. Santiago has many museums, churches. But the best option is to walk around town and let the locals welcome you. We will regroup for dinner to celebrate a fabulous NST adventure together.

Day 14Santiago

● On this day you are on your own as a group. We say goodbye and allow you to enjoy the city freely.

● Dinner will be in the Parador of Santiago restaurant called Dos Reis (500 meters from your hotel). (This meal is not included in the journey)
