Bruce Fougner, President of Lloyds Travel, Cycles to Calgary for Cancer Care

Lloyds Travel & Cruises Ltd. President and Delta Hospital Foundation Board Director and Volunteer Bruce Fougner will cycle to Calgary to raise funds for cancer care at Delta Hospital.

Riding alongside IRIS President and CEO, Dr. Francis Jean, Bruce will depart the Lower Mainland on Tuesday, July 8th. Bruce and Francis will cycle through Manning Park and the Okanagan, over Rogers Pass, and then go north to the Columbia Icefield to Jasper. Once in Jasper, Bruce and Francis will join the IRIS Challenge (http://iris.ca/challenge-iris/) which will travel back down the Columbia Icefield to Lake Louise and Banff to finish in Calgary.

The IRIS Challenge started in 2011 and, to date, has raised significant funds for cancer research. Dr. Jean has graciously extended Bruce’s funds to be pledged towards Delta Hospital with a focus on cancer care. “Last year we raised $175,000.00 for cancer care at Delta Hospital through the Delta Health 14th Annual Golf Classic Tournament so I thought it would be appropriate for this event.” Bruce stated. “While I am pleased to be able to participate, I am pretty anxious about the climb over Allison Pass and Sunday Summit, Rogers Pass and the ride north to Jasper then back again to Lake Louise… That’s two 2,000 metre climbs each way!”

Help to support Bruce’s ride for cancer care at Delta Hospital by pledging here today!
