Wool Whiskey & Water Adventure

Judy Fawcett, Lloyd’s small, special interest tour designer, is excited about a trip to Ireland she designed and is escorting in April/May 2017. Judy has divulged some of the highlights of what she calls the Wool, Whiskey and Water Adventure. The tour is on land and on water. It begins in Dublin, where we board a private mini coach with our designated driver and local guide, and takes us to Galway and then to the Aran Islands. Our land adventure includes visiting the Titanic Museum in Belfast; whiskey sampling at Bushmills; private knitting workshops and more. We’ll travel along the scenic Antrim Coast and take time to absorb the mystique and majesty of the Giant’s Causeway. From Galway we take the ferry across Galway Bay to the Aran Islands for a day of sight-seeing, meeting local knitters and learning knitting methods that have been passed on for generations within families. The next day we are whisked away for a week’s cruise aboard the Shannon Princess; a barge converted into a floating luxury hotel. We cruise the Shannon River at a stately pace enjoying delicious food, taking day trips or staying onboard sitting in the hot tub, watching the scenery go by and possibly knitting. How much or how little you do, is up to you. Each day, husband and ship’s captain, Ruairi guides us on and off the river, while wife Olivia plies us with gourmet meals, often prepared from wild foods she has foraged from the river banks.

When asked what she’s most looking forward to, Judy’s response was “EVERYTHING!”
