Club Med Ixtapa has been rated ‘one of the worlds’ best family resorts’ on Travel Advisor, and for one of our staff members who recently visited with his wife and 17mo old son, they certainly did not disappoint! Their experience with Club Med, both as a family and as a couple, left them returning home feeling recharged and relaxed!
Not only does Club Med Ixtapa offer the traditional Mini Club Med (4-10yrs) and Junior Club Med (11-17yrs) but they also offer both Petit Club Med (2-3yrs) and Baby Club Med (4-23mos). For an additional cost, they also offer Pyjama Club Med (and evening babysitting club) so that the adults can truly enjoy all the evening romantic beauty of Club Med with a fun and well deserved ‘date night’.
When travelling with children, Club Med pulls out all the stops! From the moment Brad and his family arrived, the resort was prepared for them. Starting with a fully set up Pack and Play and stroller awaiting in their room, there was also a bottle warmer set up and ready to go whenever they needed it. The accommodations were perfect for the differing hours of adults and children. Two full rooms, separated with a door. One with two twin beds (or a pack and play in Brad’s case) and a separate room with king bed with sitting/tv area that can be separated from the kids’ room – especially helpful during nap time!
With a phenomenal ratio of 1 or more staff member per child, the kids clubs truly cater to not only the entertainment but also the safety of your child while under their care. There are an abundance of toys, games and activities of all levels to keep even the most active of children occupied and happy! Staff truly try to individualize the care for each child and a thorough questionnaire is prepared prior to you leaving your child in their care. Your child’s personal details such as allergies, nap schedule and feeding schedule are all shared with the staff so that your child has the most personalized experience possible in the kids clubs!
For approximately $30, from 7pm-1am, the Pyjama club can be very handy for those couples wanting to experience the romance of the destination as well as some of the spectacular nightlife offered at Club Med. Brad and his wife did enlist this babysitting service for a date night one night and it allowed them a relaxing evening together free from the sleeping and feeding schedule of their young son.
